Although the headline is conjecture, the article mostly quotes experts in the field, so I would hardly say that it has zero substance. The main point is that highly technical websites and mailing lists that deal with the hardware and softw

One point that has been made (and which I agree with) is that this leak will reduce the influence of those in government who are in favour of more openness, and strengthen the position of those who argue for more control of information. ht

Yes, he has brought attention, and in a very reckless way, I believe. But I didn't come here to debate that, I just wanted to point out that it isn't some government campaign of misinformation that has shaped my view of Assange.

I feel the same way as the original poster, and I don't see how government misinformation has anything to do with it. Do you remember when wikileaks launched, it was described as an anonymous organization "founded by Chinese dissidents, jou

Thanks for the link. I see that the official statement is using much more measured language. I'm pretty amused by this quote: "what Level 3 wants is to pressure Comcast into accepting more than a twofold increase in the amount of traffic L

My instincts agree with his basic point, and there is probably much to learn from the individual companies he has studied. However, the numbers are totally useless. He has only profiled companies from Minnesota, and many of them are over

I don't believe that was what he was trying to say. I think his point was that Windows was successful by bringing features made popular by MacOS to a wider market and more diverse hardware, just as Android is doing that with the iPhone conc

<idle speculation> With Apple about to open a giant data-center in North Carolina, they've clearly put some thought into what kind of servers they will be running in there, and there's little chance that it will be full of Xserves.

I'm pretty confused about this. Are you guys trying to compete against GoDaddy's domain name registration service, or something more like EasyDNS's managed hosting? If you're doing the latter, then perhaps you should focus on explaining wh
