My parents care a lot about "przymrozek" - which is when it gets sub-zero C at night and you need to cover the plants and close the greenhouse doors and put a heater there so the plants survive. They give warnings in radio when th

I hurt my hand once when I had a dream I was playing basketball and I woke up in the middle of throwing a 3-pointer - so I "jumped" and raised my hands in my bed and hit my hand against the wall. > Mostly I can get a small hop

I think the part of our brains that enjoys music only has short-term memory and is experiencing the pattern-breaking surprise every time, even if you remember the song consciously. I'd say it's even over time trained to recognize

Another example is music. Music needs to have a repetitive pattern, but it shouldn't be too repetitive or it's boring. The best combination is to establish some patterns by repetition, then break these patterns and introduce new o

Suffering is the point. It's like exercises in math or push-ups - if you find a way to do them effortlessly you won't develop the skills you are training for. I agree they suck tho.

Simplistic version of this is just asking the question in 2 ways - ask for confirmation that the answer is no, then ask for confirmation that the answer is yes :) If it's sure it won't confirm it both ways.
