Chrome translate would work great if only it could look at text within the graph. Though I can mostly workout the English translation from the German title anyway.

This proves once again, and on an immense scale I can't even begin to comprehend, that Mother Nature will always win.

I can corroborate this. VLC is the one piece of software that will happily play back a movie as it's being downloaded. It's a fabulous example of tolerant software.

Grellas, I want to thank you for yet another insightful post. I always look forward to your posts because they explain legal terms in language a non-lawyer can understand. Please keep up the great work.

I took the requisite 30+ minutes to read the Lewis article on Ireland's finance problems, and thoroughly enjoyed it. And by having lived in Ireland for the last 3 years, I can say his analysis makes perfect sense to me. The nouveau riche st

Thank you so much for your story. My dream is to have a "side" business which would make enough money to allow me and my family to explore the world. It's never too late to start! PS. If I'm lucky I'll be moving to Amsterdam next month with

I'm curious about something. I remember paying $25 to some store at BYU to get Trumpet Winsock. Did you get anything from those type of purchases? If not, I'll donate. I might donate something anyway. :) This little gem of software enabled

One huge advantage of living in Europe is that we get sodas with real sugar here. None of the HCFS crap. And yes Virginia, it does make a difference. Suger > HFCS.

I can always count on learning more (and sometimes a lot!) about US law when I read any of your posts. Thank you for taking the time to explain complicated legal matters in layman's terms that I can understand.

The answer to your question about working families is that they simply wouldn't go because of the cost. The last time I had any dental work done (root canal + crown) I paid over $1k total, and that was WITH dental insurance. Teeth or rent -

This is one of the many things I love about Ireland. You don't have to drive very far outside Dublin, Cork or Galway to go back 50-100 years in time. These one-lane roads also make for good cycling too, if you go with a group who knows wher

As an American living in Europe I can say that I love having 1 and 2 Euro coins. Yes, they sometimes can get heavy and they do jingle. But that's more than offset by the convenience. Quarters seem very puny in comparison now. As a side bene

While I tend to use electronic transactions, I love the idea of a smarter ATM. Now I can't wait for my next holiday to Spain so I can try out one of these machines.

It's going to be extremely hard to argue with that diff. The Thesis version is basically the same code with only some minor reformatting and additional comments.

Good question, especially that Google's offer was along the lines of $700M CASH. I don't think the travel sites have many choices though considering the very powerful products ITA has to offer. Can you imagine what would happen if ITA were

That was a fabulous talk! Today there are far too many people (myself sometimes included) who think that some jobs are "beneath" them. Maybe the are, but someone still has to do them. Hats off to all the folks out there who do dirty jobs!

No, no, no! Do not do that! Googling will show you that this generally results in corrupted, unrecoverable drives. Use this: http://macntfs-3g.blogspot.com/ It's not the fastest driver (you can pay a small fee for a more performant one),

At the risk of being flippant, it seems obvious and the article even mentioned it. The airlines are short of cash, and new technology on this scale is not cheap (or quick or easy). I'd bet the airlines are big believers in "If it ain't brok

5 billion. 22 billion. Who cares what number comes in front of all those zeroes! It's the zeroes that matter. Once you start getting up in to the tens of millions I can't even imagine how to spend it all.

This idea might work well in Ireland since IIRC we have more cows than people. We also have a number of large data centers here and plentiful incoming bandwidth.

True, you don't need github. But it's killer feature is that provides the initial grease on the rails so that Joe Blow can come along to quickly and easily add a feature or fix a bug. As someone who just this week made some doc contribution
