What many of these comments seem to be missing is that I don't think Doc Searls meant Linux the kernel when he said this. He meant Linux the OS (which some want to call GNU/Linux as he mentioned) with all these parts included. All

These are not active protection systems though. Also, I'm pretty sure that they have at least older generation Kontakt ERA that dates back from the Soviet Union in use.

Are you referring to persistent database connections and something like apache mod_php? The first one doesn't seem that common these days and the other one doesn't seem like something that the application would force on you anyway

I agree it would be good to make the changelog unreadable but what are the numerous other ways it's insecure by default? As for the rate at which vulnerablities appear, Drupalgeddon was a very rare case. I haven't noticed Drupal h

What kind of manual steps are you talking about? Updating Drupal is usually fairly straightforward and unless you're talking about an alpha/beta release or doing a major version upgrade and definitely doesn't require manual d

I've encountered very little software that does not fairly frequently require (security) updates. It's somewhat irrelevant whether the leak happened through an unpatched security issue in Drupal since they're apparently runni

The same could be said about non-QWERTY keyboard layouts but I think the potential gains from using the best tools you can are so big that you'd have to be using shells where you're unable to customize a substantial amount to end

ergoemacs-mode has support for defining the bindings independently of whether you're using Colemak, Dvorak or QWERTY. That's a pretty good idea since the bindings are not really about any specific layout but should be picked based
