It can only get worse. Once that first batch of TLD is approved a bunch of large corporations will try to get their's as well. Initially the ICANN process will be perceived as bloated. To alleviate this competing TLD registars will take ove

Amazon also has its own fancy vocabulary but instead of cool sounding words like manifold they prefer short acronyms. Things like EC2 RDS AWS S3 EBS EMR IAM AMI SQS SNS SES HPC VPC But Amazon is the reference in cloud hosting and these te

I certainly don't think it's a bad thing. Seems like without a MOC the programmer would have to write more code or file all that meta data in a separate file. So it's all good. I was just curious since I haven't touched Qt in years and this

It takes a lot of 99¢ app sales to afford one of those new laptops. If you're in the app selling business.

From what I understand it is a version of Linux that can run binaries compiled for the iPhone on an ARM chip but doesn't provide any of the higher level Cocoa libraries (i.e. no GUI stuff)

Yes. WhosHere's answer starts with "We are not patent trolls". They should clearly change it to trademark . But really their gripe seems to be with borrowing the app concept which they agreed to. But they can only defend their trademark.

Do we have to pay the Windows Store registration fee to deploy a Metro app? Or is there still way to send out an .exe to our friends and colleagues? Even if we get free development tools it would sucks if we can't share our work for free.

I mean problems with copy-on-write. By moving objects around won't we end up copying the whole address space? Then again we may not get into this problem until there's a full GC which would be quite rare.

Can't we get into problems with heap compaction though? It seems that modern GCs try to keep the heap tidy by moving objects around.
