I would still defend the author that in fact once we look at a data model, we can see the limitations of the product. And there is no way to nullify all limitations; it will always be a tradeoff.

I love these thoughts. I love Domain Driven Design. In fact the bigger, higher, simpler picture should also follow the data model. Having a simple conceptual model, with canonical conformance at fiber, more physical levels, is superior.
