It seems that Drips has been funding FOSS builders with real money for a while, so I'm not sure what issue you have with that. Drips has nothing in common with tea.xyz, and I have never come across any PR spamming issue related to it,

culture doesn't change over night. there is no surprise that there is a big group supporting TK, but that doesn't mean much at this stage. founders set the culture in an organisation, and hire people that gel well with their views

While Spotify does a great job in marketing, I think that in reality, YouTube and SoundCloud recommendations are by far superior to 'Discover Weekly'.
