Can you elaborate on what syntactic conveniences are difficult to implement and why? Language design is on of my hobbies, so I really would like to know that.

Is this a joke, or is it based on real-life experience? I honestly can't tell. Because this might be one of the worst advices I've ever heard.

From my colleagues, both front-end developers and full-stack developers, I've heard nothing but criticism of Angular >2.0.0. I would like to hear the other side. If you use fresh Angular, why?

The second answer[1], which is from the same person as the first, really goes into details about all the complexity of move semantics in modern C++. [1] https://stackoverflow.com/a/11540204/1892060

I am not the other person, but when I try to find a JSON decoding module for F* with "f* json", I get almost completely unrelated results. So, either there is no JSON codec for F* (I guess they could use the F#'s one) or Goog

If anything, I would say refinement types make developers more replaceable. If Developer-1 documents all assumptions in the code using refinements, then, when they are replaced with Developer-2, the new developer can be productive more quic

Why didn't refinement types find their way into mainstream languages yet? It seems like it would have a tremendous impact on how programs are written and tested.

So far, the author writes, it only supports 1.8 and not all of standard library. But if it ever supports 2.4 + Rails, that would be enormous.

I guess the immediate question everyone has for such tools is how does it compare with clang-tidy for C++?

Doesn't cmake take care of most of this? Is there any reason not to use cmake on middle to large scale projects? I am genuinely curious. I've only recently started looking at cmake, and it seems like they should generate portable

They are using the Iris framework, the one the Go community doesn't recommend to use due to numerous instances where the package author would rewrite the history of the project. See [1][2]. [1] https://github.com/avelin

I assume, they mean that you don't need to have C at all. See how Go for example doesn't require C on most platforms to make syscalls (IIRC, the exceptions are Windows and Solaris).

Can Perl6 merge all of its generated VM code into one "package"? One of my favourite things about Go is that you can statically compile everything and then deployment basically becomes scp.
