Is this not an issue with a parser rather than with YAML?

Markdown's problem is no single standard. This is not the case with YAML, so no, it is not like markdown. And you can technically write assembler also.

Can't really argue with that, which is why people don't and just downvote.

Maybe I am just pedantic but "many things" != "anything" and the existence of vulnerable systems does not invalidate the existence of secure systems.

Probably the best solution to this is something like memlockd where you explicitly tell the kernel what memory must always be in resident set.

   by ailideex 7y ago

You provide limited information but it is not clear the scenario you explain is a bug. If too much memory is locked into resident memory with mlock then this sounds like the expected and correct behavior.

Would the mistakes compile? In many cases having a simpler less powerful language increases the amount of code you have to write. In this case it would be one place to fix, if the function was implemented for n different types then a mistak

I think this conflates problems we have with measuring reality with how we should deal with it. If we know for sure that there is a 3 legged dog then we can say for sure a claim that all dogs have 4 legs is not valid. Sure, we cannot know i
