> There's absolutely evidence that unions increase wages. 100%. Does that hold for unprofitable VC-subsidized companies? They might go bankrupt if VCs are turned off by a unionized workforce in the next round.

You can buy things from a different company or work for a different company or lobby your government to go after the company and stop their behavior. It's much much harder to move countries, if they even let you.

If their values are stability and prosperity then why do they look down on Western governance which has resulted in both more stability and greater prosperity than China?

Strong disagree. There is always an economic tradeoff. Hypothetically going from 0.00001% chance of death to 0.000001% chance of death is not worth my ticket price going from $500 to $2000. Also why I drive to work every day instead of some

Knowing how to use a car instead of a horse is useful regardless of whether other people are using cars or horses. It is just a much more powerful tool, despite the complexity arguments you see people throw around online.

To be fair you can rent a studio in a luxury condo (with doorman, pool, gym, curtain glass walls, etc.) for the price of a bunk bed in SF, around USD1600/mo. I know, I've done both. Real estate is expensive to buy and salaries are

We deployed to prod 30x a day at Coinbase, precisely for this reason. It worked great and I was honestly shocked when I worked for other companies that plan their releases like they're shipping shrink-wrapped CDs in 1999.

If American expats pay US income tax, why shouldn’t they qualify? Maybe the US should stop taxing people that don’t even live in America like every other civilized country.
