The pipeline of promises/maps nicely separates the operations. Also, writing your own static site generator is kind of fun! Did so for my tiny site ( https://ahuth.github.io ). Source code is at https://github.com&

Out of curiosity, what languages do you think are good ones?

Adapting a book for another language doesn't really make you miss an opportunity, though, right? The original is still freely available for you to look at and see another language.

This example definitely assumes familiarity with a 12-hour clock, which indeed spins around twice before getting back to the same time.

I'm sure this is true in your case, but seems overly broad. Sort of like saying 'No managers care about quality, and all are useless'. Not sure, but I wonder if more nuance in statements like this would make them more persuas

Agreed. It's so nice updating/creating a password on desktop, and being able to use it immediately and seamlessly on my phone or other machines. This seamlessness is also critical for my less-technical family members on my plan. T

The engineering manager of the react core team talked about accessibility efforts, which was cool! Apparently they're working on: * Primitives for focus management without dealing directly with the DOM. Maybe related to https:/&#

I think it makes sense to use whatever language you want, and the ideas in the book don't only apply to Scheme. I've been working through the book in Javascript - https://github.com/ahuth/sicp/ . Maybe I&

As a software engineer, I've always been fascinated by the amount of critique that designers go through with their designs. While we do have code review, I'm not sure our architecture/design choices go through the same level

When reading I didn’t realize it was from the CEO. For some reason, that does make it seem kind of sleazy (not sure why). On the other hand, it’s still damn good advice. It’s exactly how I would expect high-performing people to act. Victim

Maybe, but even native speakers have small errors and weird phrasings. Whoever thinks you can’t teach them because of a small typo probably wasn’t going to learn anything anyway.

I empathize, and it's not always great. In response to "how can people put up with this?", I'm not sure what we can do. Meaning, I'm not sure there's an action I could take to improve things. Also, not saying i
