When I visit the site I get the error "Your connection is not private". Also: "You cannot visit magazine.sebastianraschka.com right now because the website uses HSTS." Chrome latest on Ubuntu.

It fun to see that, in an era where most CEOs are all-in with AI both on a personal level and at their companies, dhh chose to rather take a deep dive into the world of linux and config files and indie computer brands. Curious what will the

But what would happen if the small model's prediction was "is Rome."? Wouldn't that result in costlier inference if the small model is "wrong" more than it is correct. Also, if the small model would be sufficie

Something I learned from trying to learn how military equipment works is that "fifty-year old" and the likes aren't necessarily synonymous with "obsolete".

What's dumb about watching dubbed woodworking videos? And what part of watching japanese videos in japanese makes superior? You know what's dumb, though: failing to acknowledge that the world is diverse and people have diverse nee

That's a s(p/c)ammer's dream if there's a lesson to be learned from the.tk experience. I think this should fall on governments to create such a system for their citizens. A cheap web.de or website.au, would be very prac

I only clicked because the name seemed very smart! INAL so I'm not sure about the infringement part, but I loved how they got this cool name by changing only one letter. Bravo, to whom ever came up with the name.

Did try to see if using blockada (or similar apps) to block the apps access to the internet would work or cause and side effects (like other core apps not loading, ...)?

I didn't even realize that we've never seen the sun's poles before as I just assumed we already scanned our star many times over. A nice reminder of how patchy and limited our knowledge is despite the impression of the opposi

It is indeed and with the rise of llm it can also be worth a lot of cash. Iirc openai bought chat.com for several millions of dollars lately.

Exactly. For that same reason I can't understand why startups tie their websites with some of the least stable countries out there. I took notion too long to transition from that .so domain to the .com.

This reminded of e.foundation. I find it hilarious that they combined the shortest domain with the longest tld :D

That was a deliberate choice, actually. This is about the domains and not the websites!

Yeah, I use that so much for notes and stuff that I had to create an app script to clean my GDrive from the hundreds, if not 1000+, of "unnamed document"s left behind.

This reminds of the lady who had gmail.com (iirc) and, for years, refused to sell it to Google. The URL does redirect to the mail service but not sure if I'm remembering wrong or she finally got an offer even she couldn't pass.

I know it's a small detail, but I was so confused with the title that I had to check the calendar. Having results of Q1 26 in May 25 can be disorienting. In my country, the fiscal year always coincides with the calendar year.

For a small restaurant, wouldn't it be easier to rebrand but making sure they own the domain first? I know this is not ideal, but pragmatically speaking, this might be simpler and cheaper.
