It is not that difficult a problem code wise. It's a very difficult problem culturally though, in that the people that know mainframes and also C/C++ or Java or whatnot and could help do the migration slowly and safely and mostly

That's the way to go in my opinion. The FreeBSD folks build their entire damn project with make, although I'll admit my eyes glaze over a bit anytime I take a look at it. CMake is just a little too high level for my taste. Like I
