I've invested thousands of dollars in my home setup (which will never be done), to create an amazing working environment. Why would I want to give that up? Sure, employers may give you a little $ to customize your desk and equipment, b

If you break your HTML into partials using a template language or components with React, Vue.js, etc., you only need to update in one place as well.

I know, all these users viewing source and getting excited about the semantic HTML classes. HTML classes are for devs so let's use them how we see fit. I don't even think screen readers take into account HTML classes. While semant

It's because of political tribalism. They want to appear impartial while still maintaining they're part of tribe X.

Why can't people just donate directly? I set up recurring payments for donation-based channels I watch on Youtube, so not sure why this can't be the same.

Maybe wealth redistribution, in which the government takes a large portion for its own purposes, isn't what these disenfranchised people really want? I think they want empowerment and jobs, not a few scraps tossed their way.

I wish I had learned many programming paradigms; I only started experimenting with functional programming a few years ago. Imperative/OOP dominated every college course and book I read.

I suppose you're right, but really, in what context do you need to do this? I've never had to do this in over 15 years of software development. I remember learning LLs in college, and it's good foundational knowledge -- it te

If it's true that all audio is being sent to Amazon, I will throw my Echo out today. That's a serious invasion of privacy and breach of trust.

Thanks for the explanation. So it isn't really RDBMS vs NoSQL inside Lambda, but issues with using Lambda on your own VPC.

This is way too specific and will create tons of bureaucracy -- and of course, there will be exemptions and disputes about what qualifies and what doesn't. The lawyers and government will win, but I'm not sure about everyone else.

Thanks for this. I had no idea that young cells were better, even if that may seem obvious. I had to dig, but the price is $7000 for the procedure and lifetime storage or $3500 and then $250 per year for storage. Maybe competition in this c

I'm really digging BS4, but I wish they had an official off-canvas menu. The slide-down menu is nice, but I think off-canvas is better in many scenarios.

That would be ideal. Government-run education does not respond to market forces, so I don't trust them to produce skilled graduates.

I feel like we're creating a new government program to counter the failures of an existing one: education. If people had marketable skills, it would be a lot easier to find work. Perhaps tax revenue should go to education and training,

The social contract of society? Sounds religious to me and also a rationalization for State power. I only believe in real contracts that I actually sign and agree to. Moving benefits to the State just gives them a monopoly on those benefits
