Maybe wealth redistribution, in which the government takes a large portion for its own purposes, isn't what these disenfranchised people really want? I think they want empowerment and jobs, not a few scraps tossed their way.
- Frondo 10y agoLooking to someone else to provide a job for them seems like a different kind of handout. A reliance on a company to provide for them. Which is funny, since the jobs left when the employers in these small towns betrayed them and abandoned them for overseas labor and robots.
