I'm using the standalone Tailwind CLI, which means I don't need to have any trace of node in my repo. It has a watch mode which I run while coding - that makes sure that any new Tailwind CSS directives I add to source code get add

I can't disagree about the irresponsibility of the IA when it comes to the Emergency Library stuff. But I for one would be pretty heartbroken to lose access to the absolutely enormous catalog of live shows from a ton of bands that IA h

I recently started a new blog / personal site, replacing an old Jekyll blog I hadn't touched since 2016. This time I decided to just write plain old HTML, with the minor concession of using Tailwind for styling because I wanted to

While I share your annoyance at needing dotnet on my system, since I don't use it, dotnet has been cross platform for quite some time. You don't need a Windows box to run this code.

This is so cool. This is the kind of thing that convinces me that human powered art isn't going anywhere. Sure, AI can pump out nice pictures, but the creativity and vision it takes to make something like this isn't going anywhere

I _strongly_ doubt that physical labor jobs like plumbing will be replaced within a few years. I spent a year working in welding automation and folks wildly underestimate the difficulty of automating real physical tasks like this. And that&

This is very close to what our company does, and I think it's a great process. We like to give a two part problem - something relatively simple like an "early-December" Advent of Code problem. We give the first portion as a t

Please do - Consider Phlebas is good in its own way, but it's a lot different from the rest of the series. Player of Games is a great entry point, but I think Surface Detail might be my favorite. It might be my favorite sci-fi book I&#

I have to give it to Unsong, but that's a hell of a long favorite. My favorite bit in Unsong is the chapter where God gives an answer to the problem of evil, but there are so many other good bits in there too. Meditations on Moloch is

That's just not the case at all. You can certainly buy mods from the Minecraft store (or whatever it's called). But you can also write behavior packs and make skins and textures without paying for anything (besides the base game).

A quick google suggests nicotine stays in your system for just a few days after quitting. I realize of course that it's hard to just quit nicotine on a whim for a few days, but I imagine most could do it for the sake of a job.
