I have had some recent SO frustration with sheer number of answering/seeing SO posts where I have been like... you really couldn't have just googled that? I guess basically boils down to conversation vs searching. In the last coup

It also really depends on what is meant by HTTP. If we are including Websockets and HTTP2/SPDY than yeah I might see HTTP as more viable choice over AMQP, Thrift, custom sockets, etc. The problem is internal communication and (especial

Yes and no. Some incoherent thoughts below: For plain fire and forget you are correct that async pub/sub is decoupled and in fact while our monolithic app is monolithic it actually is fairly decoupled because of this (e.g. it often is

The problem is that we don't use HTTP(S) for micro-services but rather ZeroMQ and/or RabbitMQ. Many async pub/sub platforms are much more complicated to test. I assume Hoverfly doesn't yet support other protocols but doe

I used to write a lot of personal Python scripts (ie ~/bin). I mainly did this because I seem to always screw up bash scripts and just can't remember all the conditional flags ie ([[-z ]] and error handling with bash for me has al

I haven't interviewed in some time but one thing I absolutely hate about technical interviews is "white board" coding. For some reason white boards intimidate me. I have terrible penmanship and complete lack of planning how m

Not to completely denigrate Apache but I have found contributing to Apache projects (not the license but real apache projects) to be somewhat of a hassle. They generally do not do PRs but rather patches via email or attached to bugs (perhap

I would have to sort of disagree that black coffee is always going to give you more of a "true" coffee taste. Adding fat and sodium for most things generally exemplifies the taste and flavor (not sugar). For example adding tarrago
