My wife and I bought a 2-family (we live in the other unit) a couple of years ago and so many people told us how it was a bad idea. People said we would have horrible tenets and that finding renters would be hard and that selling rental property is a nightmare. Eight years later and I can tell you it was one of the smarter investments I have made. Had wonderful tenets. And after some refi magic the house is not far from being paid off.
