I only have about a month experience but the real issue is you have to do a lot of things manually that are done automatically in other systems like Cassandra. Particularly rollups and stream like things. That is you have to do the rollups

I'm fairly certain most experts can tell the difference and not all experts are for prescribing medicine either (I believe John Ratey is fairly against it). Being disobedient does not mean ADHD (and of course the inverse) and there dif

I actually the more I see or hear Trump the more I empathize with his plight. Like Howard Stern I'm concerned the presidency will do serious mental harm to him. Trump has what best can be called a serious addiction to praise. It his ha

How long of a line are we talking here? Most coding standards are 80-120 with maybe some at 140. If you are say 4 levels deep the additional characters used over 2 spaces is 8 characters. You got whopping 8 additional characters to make an

Yes but like I said before long lines is an extremely easy thing to fix in most PLs (ignoring config of course). You can refactor code so that the line is not as long but you can't refactor indention spacing.

Let me guess... It is hard for you to read long lines or your monitor isn't big enough? You might call that an accessibility thing right? You get what I'm getting at. You traded one accessibility that is fairly easy to fix (at wor

I don't consider myself a huge code style pusher but when I see two space indentation I have to really ask... seriously... why???!!! Its funny to me because the languages where you get massive nesting you almost want greater indentatio

Interesting. There was a project a while back that offered async through netty but it was trying to do everything async (ie not follow the JDBC spec). This project appears to follow the JDBC spec and thus is synchronous with the exception o

Basically replace "Go" in that article with "Java 8". Java 8 makes for a much stronger argument for their situation considering they wouldn't have needed to rewrite any of the Scala code. The author of the article a
