People and companies alike keep forgetting that the best is the enemy of the good. They achieve success with the good and they try to get ahead of themselves with the better. Sometimes they succeed :-)

I feel compelled to point out that FreeBSD manual page for the led driver has this example: /usr/bin/morse -l "Soekris rocks" > /dev/led/error Guess what it does :-)

Just my two cents. If your A, B, C are neatly separated, then good. But it's way too easy (especially for a "quick hack" type of programmers) to introduce hidden dependencies like a goto from the middle of A to the middle of

Of course, the real root cause of many subsequent troubles and years of war is that there was no reason to attack, even less invade, either Iraq or Afghanistan after 9/11. GWB just had to do something to show that he protects Americans

It's that you can get much better pay in Poland. Especially for lower skill jobs, higher skill jobs are not that different. It's easy to get legal employment and residence. The countries are close culturally and linguistically. An

Regardless, plain ZFS should be used for Oracle ZFS. What we have is OpenZFS and various flavors of it like ZFS-on-Linux, ZFS/illumos, ZFS/FreeBSD. The things are going towards ZoL getting proclaimed as the OpenZFS.

I recall that the oil price was 100% higher for several years at the start of the decade. And it was considered normal. There was no crisis at all.

But, did the spraying start short time before the symptoms appeared? Or has it been going on for a long while? In the latter case, it's not strange that they didn't make a connection initially, because "nothing changed".

IMO, chroot is good for changing root :) but not for security. Example: zfs clone your current root, chroot there, experiment / test /etc.

In Ukrainian we have a similar провітритись, literally meaning "let wind blow through self". I suspect that many Slavic languages have the same. I wonder if English has something of that nature as well.

Support for ZFS in FreeBSD installer, support for ZFS boot environments, etc, etc are surely the things that make you feel that ZFS was "bolted into" FreeBSD. Or, perhaps, you haven't used FreeBSD+ZFS as much.
