I'd say anyone who doesn't believe in UFOs is just not observant enough. That doesn't mean aliens among us or secret government spy planes, but if you watch the sky long enough, you'll see some odd, hard to explain thing

It defeats the email verification entirely. If that weren't necessary for something, why would the site require it?

I use cash because it doesn't require batteries, and because my cell phone won't let me use Google Pay, as it's running a custom OS (before that, was rooted) so I'm obviously untrustworthy. I do use a credit card pretty

Woah that's weird. Left shifting either takes 3 cycles or 1 cycle, depending on how you initialize the cycle count register? This patch from the article makes it take 1 cycle instead of 3: - MOV RCX, 1 + MOV ECX

IMO the real advantages of 2FA are threefold: 1. The key is generated by the server, not the client (human), so it cannot be reused like a password. 2. The authentication is temporally bound, so phishing only offers access for ~30 seconds,

I did read the article. I'm skeptical of the claim though. The author was careful to publish specific UAs for the bots, but then provided no extra information of the non-bot UAs. >If you try to rate-limit them, they’ll just switch t

Yeah I would suggest against using a ccTLD unless you have a strong connection to that country. Don't buy .io or .ai because they're trendy. Buy .com or .net or .dev or something else generic, or buy .co.uk if you live in the UK e

Yeah, this is the sort of thing that a caching and rate limiting load balancer (e.g. nginx) could very trivially mitigate. Just add a request limit bucket based on the meta User Agent allowing at most 1 qps or whatever (tune to 20% of your

Its the old question, chaos or stability? The bird or the cage? Freedom and justified fear, or stifling safety? Usually the young and disaffected are more on the side of chaos, with more to gain and less to lose, while the old and powerful

It's too long. That's the only real problem with it. The same UUID in base58 would be: Xe22UfxT3rxcKJEAfL5373 Which is 22 characters instead of 36.

Not sure why your comment was flagged. I also somewhat regret using base58 UUIDs, but with sufficient DB and app-side helpers, and sufficient discipline to always convert at the edges, it became tolerable. It was the only option I could com
