If it makes a difference, Python's urllib handles 301, 303, and 307 with the 302 handler. It also speaks 1.0 http://hg.python.org/cpython/file/0752215f9f91/Lib/urllib.py...

This is exactly right. The users are not in a position to understand how easy it is to break passwords.

Sometimes when compiling and trying to use system calls gcc will complain about the functions not existing. This is usually because of some preprocessor guard not being defined. An easy way to see what macros have been defined is to run g

This demo (like all demos) is only showing the best case performance. There are plans to add JIT to C Python ( http://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-3146/ ), but the numbers listed there don't look very impressive. Mathematically intense co

Unfortunately it is still pretty hard to get any of your Google Talk chat logs out. Most of the solutions are from years ago and no longer work. I ended up being able to download an sqlite database of my chat logs using Google Gears.

If I wanted Chrome features, I'd download Chrome. The reason I use FF is /because/ I don't want to use Chrome. If FF just copies from other browsers, why have FF at all?

Obvious, but passing arguments to this will cause it to break. One other mod: (j/1000) could be replaced with (j>999) which is still non conditional, but faster.
