My inbox a good place for me to learn about the existence of a new issue of something, but a poor place to actually read said issues, to keep track of what I've read, and manage a 'library'. I want e-reader-like features:

Fair enough. I'd say these channel takeover shenanigans disqualify freenode from being a good candidate for a software project's home or HQ. It makes me doubt that any IRC network can be rightly considered for that role, if this i

Really strange to call an IRC network 'home'. It's infrastructure. And it's (generally) not a private space for its users. More like a cafe or a co-working space than a home.

The series did deteriorate, but I liked book 4. It's a romance. I recommend it to all young fools, or those who can fondly remember being such.

In this story, wasn't Zameer was defrauded into paying for a phone that the seller had no right to sell? The seller didn't completely own it. So Zameer isn't really the owner now. Despite that, I think it would have been cool

There are lots of different gaming communities of varying qualities (and toxicity levels). You paint with a broad brush, but this is understandable when the most visible aspects of online gamer culture are on the big, barely-moderated socia

I like the food analogy, let's extend it. We have ingredients lists on packaged processed food, but we have more than that: the ability to buy ingredients, learn recipes, make recipes, and cook. We should have the ability to put what w

In the case of HN, what is the bad effect? HN's formula may be hidden but I think we have a good sense of its inputs: recency, upvotes, moderation to remove crap, and perhaps some boosting to promote YC interests.
