The international version or the US (LTE) variant? I have the Verizon SGS3 (albeit running CyanogenMod) and the responsiveness is very good. TouchWiz (the Samsung Android overlay) probably adds some latency and CyanogenMod uses a newer kern

I think that was the nvidia optimus switchable crap that had very little Linux support. I think some of the most recent NVIDIA drivers have some support, but my T410 thankfully doesn't have that.

If you live in any sort of city, I'm sure that there are classes for art/math/science, etc. I definitely think that for a relatively self motivated student, homeschooling works very well.

As someone who was also homeschooled in Georgia (but was in the city of Atlanta), I don't really understand how most parents seem to believe that educating their children isn't their sole responsibility. Sure, their kids' t

If LGPL works for you, you may want to look into http://www.mlpack.org/ I'm not really sure how they compare since I haven't really used either library, but there does seem to be some overlap.

You can use mime types to send both HTML and plain text so that the receiver can choose which to view based on the mail client preference. Some of us still like to use mutt or (al)pine for mail and either have to render html in w3m or somet

I'm seriously considering one as well. I was looking at the transformer pads, but I might wait for the transformer prime hd (or whatever it's called).

zsh will actually do this for commands if you make a typo when the correct option is turned on. I don't think it will correct options though (but can autocomplete).

Apparently there is an Android app[1] that will let you upload gps tracks and do other editing. I haven't really played with it yet, but I'm also in Atlanta so if OSM is really that bad here I might start helping. [1]: http://code.google.c

He also isn't quite up to speed with Fortran overloading. It is fairly easy to define interfaces that can call different functions based on input type, but it still isn't as nice as C++. http://pastebin.com/1ewMcDaA

FYI, most graduate students I know here in the US also consider the math section in the GRE to be a joke. But as a grad student in an engineering school I guess that's to be expected. When I took the GRE, the hardest thing about the math te

I actually just got back from seeing this movie and it was great :) It wasn't too technical; it focused on the stress that comes with engineering school and how you shouldn't be going to school for a degree but because you want to learn. A
