Even though it catchy, it's still bullshit. Spending much more money and still failing miserably is a likely outcome of lots of projects.

As far as I can tell, we have culturally decided that all is fair if you are working for a company. Things that are clearly criminal if done on your own time are seen as just clever manipulation of contracts if you are working for a company

Yes, I was assuming that the cleaning fee was listed upfront. I have frequently seen these listed when booking right in the pricing section. If they aren't listed, then they are definitely unethical and I wouldn't pay it.

Cleaning fees make perfect sense to me. When renting a house out, if I stay 1 night, the owner has to clean the house once. If I stay 1 week, the owner has to clean the house once. Seems like this is just matching pricing to costs.

It's obvious to a software person. The question is whether they made that obvious to their non-technical user. It seems to me that their marketing loves to imply that the message disappears and there is nothing that can be done to sa

This is not the only variant of DevOps. There are companies where the developers are responsible for creating the automation scripts to deploy their code into production as services and expected to keep in running in production.

Many people believe that the Oregon Health Study is the best chance we have of teasing causation out of the data. It is still in progress but it is being watched closely. http://oregonhealthstudy.org/

This area is just one that Bill Joy covers in http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/8.04/joy_pr.html Why the Future Doesn't Need Us , which is my favorite essay on lots of these ideas.

This actually seems measurable. Do teams that are behind perform worse on average? Do teams perform worse than normal after failing a 4th down attempt?

Nick Saban can call any number of schools right now and be the highest paid coach in NCAAF. He has a reputation for going for it on 4th down and taking risks. Also, it was Auburn, not Baylor.

No one eats every meal with their family, and people who switch to Soylent for every meal are doing so for the interesting story and proof that Soylent, at least in the short term, is not harmful and is complete. The fact that eating toget
