I've used Emacs for the last 10+ years first with my own custom keybindings and recently with keybindings with 'default' CUA bindings like you find them in almost any other modern application. Before I switched to Emacs I used vi/Vim for al

Also often misquoted by leaving out "A foolish" so programmers and designers can dodge criticism on their APIs or designs.

Dumb autocompletion easily covers 50% of my cases and with Emacs hippie-expand (or one of its modern siblings) up to 75%: http://emacswiki.org/emacs/HippieExpand That said, Emacs and Vim also have intelligent autocompletion depending on t

You can use an Emacs config that'll set CUA bindings that people are more familiar with. (C-o to open files, C-s for saving, C-n for a new window, etc.) I've got a config you can start from. Who the hell uses default Emacs key bindings any

Perhaps, depending on B2's self-confidence. There's still that category of people that ask questions for other reasons than being interested in the answers to those questions.

Your questions 1 to 4 look pretty normal and I would ask those as well. The parent poster is mostly talking about people asking questions just to make themselves look better.

I find 20% to be fairly substantial actually. If a certain market would be 20% of your income, would you ignore it? (Given that it is not that hard to develop cross-platform especially since OS X is usually targeted as well.)

I've always prefered to retrain myself instead of using abbreviations because I was afraid I would need increasingly more of them because of the abbr crutch. However I have never heard of this happening to anyone. Does anyone have any exper

Meanwhile I've been enjoying a jailbroken iPhone for over three years now. How many important iOS updates have there been anyway? All I can recall were the SMS exploit and the PDF exploit for which there was a fix available on Cydia sooner

Valve AND Blizzard would be pretty big though since they make 'PC games' (for lack of a better term). Other big players like EA release their games on console as well. Most Blizzard games already work pretty well with Wine so perhaps a dist
