The EVE-Online marketplace should satisfy the "kinda Wall-Street software" requirement. (No I'm not making the spreadsheets in space joke.)

They will become less wary over time. The same thing happened in Western Europe: policies which governments didn't even dare proposing a few decades ago (because of experiences in WW2) are now being pushed through without much resista

The first thing I turn off in most games is Bloom. I actually do have glasses and the bloom effect in most games just looks like my glasses are greasy, no thanks. Also, AA is another thing I generally turn off. It gives quite a performanc

I more often get away[1] with a warning than getting fined by governments officials. Then again, this is in The Netherlands and I'm a average white guy. Just being understanding and being sorry generally works for me :-) [1] This happ

I switched to Void Linux which feels BSD'ish while keeping Linux conveniences like Steam, inotify (for things like Dropbox), etc. It comes well recommended. I've been running this as my main dev machine at work for six months now

Today you'd create something in Unreal Engine or Unity and upload that to a server. Or export it as a mobile phone app.

I wanted to point that out as well. Especially since the OP is familiar with Ruby it's really not a thing to get wound up about. Compared to Python and Ruby, Perl might be getting a little long in the tooth but there's probably s

I used Brave for a couple of months and it is really nice but at that time it was still based on Chromium and I didn't want to make that rendering engine any more popular than it already is. (Since you're indirectly supporting Chr

Now that you mention it, perhaps it was installed because I grabbed a Void Linux image with MATE? I'd have to do a reinstall to check, but I've got work to do ;-) I'll update my original post if I can though. Still, good to

I've been running it at work as my main dev OS for a couple of months now (before I ran Debian) and I've run into far less issues than I expected. It's really well done. Before Void Linux I contemplated jumping ship to FreeB

I don't work in CL for a living but it is my main go-to language (also at work). It is worth it to put some time into even though there's not a big market asking for CL directly.

I had ETH on Kraken and after the fork I had ETH and ETC. However there's no saying what exchanges will do in this case. If you have your own BTC you will have BTC and BCC after the fork which you can sell.
