Surely that must use conventional HTTP referrer data—for which we have well established standards, decades of experience managing interactions and edge cases, and norms for respecting user consent—and not some apparently wishful query param

What’s the purpose of appending ?ref=selfh.st to every outgoing link? Generally you can’t just make up parameters for other people’s websites.

Not familiar with this project but I’ve taken a “selfie” with Seattle’s live traffic cameras and it didn’t involve violating any traffic laws. The video lag was such that you could wave at the camera halfway through a crosswalk, get safely

I do submit a complaint for each instance. I’ve sent over a thousand now. Hopefully it’s useful data to someone. My intent isn’t to reverse-spam the FCC though; the complaint form just only accepts one phone number at a time. Amusingly I’ve

Yeah, my price just changed from €7.05 to €8.99—in the name of fairness to low impact users? It’s brazenly nonsensical. It would be so much better if they’d just said “sorry but we need to raise prices”. The attempt to sugarcoat it is insul

Yep, US political spam is unblockable. I receive “wait, you’re a Republican, this can’t be right‽” style SMS messages from 10–20 unique phone numbers every day. The FCC’s spam complaint form only accepts one sender number per submission so

I’ve encountered a couple instances of businesses that 1) send me unsolicited marketing mail, 2) react to that being flagged as spam by internally blocklisting me, then 3) silently fail to send transactional mail such as password resets.

I’ve set my shell to discreetly play the sound of a mouse button click upon completion of any command that ran for longer than 20 seconds. That choice of sound has the convenient effect that no one else seems to consciously notice it.
