Wow thanks for linking that. Great talk. I'm always on the lookout for talks about interesting and generally useful concepts, but where I can follow only a small part of them. Makes me feel like I can learn and grow into a wiser person

This is a great take and is simultaneously optimistic and pessimistic. I think you're optimistic about the right things though in that getting stuff done at an individual level has never been more valuable. Likewise, learning facts in

It tops my list of impactful books for sure. I feel like GEB can't even properly be described as being "about" anything in particular. It seems to evade capture in the same way that the formal systems that it describes evade

From my understanding, that is what architecture.md is for. 1 doc to describe the current state and reasons for it, rather than 1 doc per change.

Very cool! Glad this exists :D I notice that there aren't that many listings though, and many of the listings are from the same companies. Is this because there simply aren't many listings for 4 day weeks? Or is it just difficult

You're a wizard, Harry! There's a great book on this called the wizard and the prophet. Might be worth a read if you want to know more. My personal take is that the risks of high population growth are insanely huge. Science and te

On one hand, Good! Planet is overpopulated relative to how much we damage the planet. Current population growth rates are not sustainable long term without massive technological improvements, and it's not worth the risk to assume that

Functional programming trends killed it imo. Map filter reduce make up a big part of the code I write and it takes longer to write the hard-to-read UML version of those than it does to write the actual implementation.

The gas idea is interesting, and gave me another idea. Assuming that you could track an object, I wonder how much much you could slow down/redirect debris using air resistance. The idea would be to fill a balloon with air, and then rel
