Why not use python itself then? The design by contract PEP is old. Not sure if anyone is working on it. https://adsharma.github.io/agentic-transpilers/ https://adsharma.github.io/pysmt

TLA+ and the like work because they target a very small specification language. With the large footprint of Rust, I've seen questions raised about how this will work. But haven't seen good answers. Would love to read more.

May be the tech equivalent resonates better. Everyone should use telnet and there is no evidence that anyone is looking at your packets. As a divided country, we keep squabbling over the metaphorical telnet when we could be making ssh more

I'll accept any open format that can be lightly edited and converted into PDF. Google doc + PDF is likely the most commonly used combination based on what I see in the SEO spam. Some of them make you watch ads and then allow you to dow

The amount of SEO spam on these searches indicates to me that this is a commercially profitable query and a task a lot of people are interested in. If a multi-modal LLM can read a 100 page PDF and answer questions about it or replace a medi

In spite of all this progress, I can't find LLMs that solve simple tasks like: Here is my resume. Make it look nice (some design hints). They can spit html and css, but not Google doc. On the other hand, Google results are dominated by

For non trivial queries I write them in a separate SQL file where I get the benefit of syntax highlighting, auto formatting and error checks. There may be another benefit: a lot of LLMs are getting good at how do I do X in Duckdb.

Your point about SQL strings vs more strongly typed DF APIs stands. However it's somewhat weakened by the possibility that some parts of the SQL string are resolved by the surrounding python context.

I'm a bit confused by the claim that duckdb doesn't support dataframes. This blog post suggests that it has been supported since 2021 and matches my experience. https://duckdb.org/2021/05/14/sql-on-p

This sounds like an argument for a custom DSL designed for the purpose of expressing constraints and for querying statiatical data. Perhaps there are cases where DSL is the right answer. Not sure if this is one though. I see some parallels

I still believe that a variant of python that has algebraic types and pattern matching beats Rust for writing parsers quickly. My effort has been in adding these features to a front end language that transpiles to an underlying FP language,
