I was refering to the expansion behavior, which was the point in contention. I've clarified the original comment.

Wildcards are not variables. Wildcards don't get expanded in quotes. Variables get expanded in double quotes but not single quotes. $@ obeys all the same expansion rules as all other variables. Command substitution with both $() and ``

I just wish slack had something comparable to mkinitcpio that arch has, which makes it much easier to set up an initial ramdisk for an encrypted root partition.

Whoops, yeah it's been a while since I worried about stuff like this in javascript. I guess what I remembered doing was keeping track of cursor position in a global, updated on every mousemove to simulate immediate mode in a requestAni

I won't comment much on most of those points (they're not my style), but as for the last point you made about long identifiers and namespacing, I used to agree that that was a problem, but now I've changed my position. If you

The point is that this informs the compiler of that behavior of free so that it can optimize it away. Basically it gives you some of the advantages you'd get if free were a compiler intrinsic (which it might be, idk).

You don't want to use mouse events for games. You probably want to use window.getAnimationFrame and then just query cursor coordinates. The mouse move events have to be filtered to be less frequent to accommodate some of the limitation

How about just type parameters that let you implicitly get sizeof parameters and pass function pointers without having to unportably cast them.

A popular school of thought says to not worry about such things until you run into a performance issue and through profiling you find a bottleneck to optimize. Database requests, and really any IO, is never appropriate to use like this, I&#

That definition doesn't apply any better to the attach/detach functionality of tmux than the window management functionality, so you're going to have to use a more flexible definition than that for the term to ever apply to t

Well I can appreciate the idea, and there's no other solution that can handle all cases of multiple levels of nested applications that all have their own keybindings (like a web app inside of a web browser inside of a window manager).

I'd agree that tiling is the less useful function, but the name refers to the tiling. Tmux is short for Terminal Multiplexer, in other words, it's a program that turns one terminal into multiple terminals, by way of tiling.

Yeah, tmux has two functions, and that's my (and others') problem with it. Instead of doing one thing well, it does two things poorly. It's not a very good window manager; when you use tmux you can't easily put a graphic

I'm not a parent. I do work with kids in a limited capacity, as a volunteer. I obviously don't use any corporal discipline in that context, and if I had children of my own I wouldn't have the heart to hit them. I'm just
