This also makes it easier to use the vim keybinding you find in many IDEs, as you are not relying on more arcane or customized bits of vim itself, but the general concept and common idioms.

I've seen rice done in videos by (I believe?) heating them under pressure and then releasing the pressure suddenly, causing max puffage . An example: https://youtu.be/ZyJoqS__7O0

I'd say that then this hypothetical new social network just wouldn't be suitable for Reddit-like shitposting. Keep Reddit and Twitter for that, this-new-thing for real-identity real talk. I don't see a problem and I'd lo

Not really, in my opinion. When conditions are obviously bad, people behave more cautiously. It is when everything seems fine and easy that people get too comfortable with pushing the limits, or things get too boring, and mistakes happen.

I don't believe there's a specific way to install or manage it. Use the facilities your host OS provides just as you'd do with Ruby, Python or Perl. As per how to select versions easily, the Symfony project provides a Symfony

You are doing it right. 7.4 just ended its security support so you might argue that you should be at least on 8.0 just in case a bug is found and not backported. Truth is: it's not likely. But in any case theres no need whatsoever to

Let me put it this way: there are major plugins with millions of installs that do not support PHP 8.0. I even host a few installs on the latest 7.x version. I don't understand where this update hysteria comes from. PHP 8.1 security

Older versions of PHP are supported with security fixes for a while. There's no need to upgrade to 8.2 right now, at all.

I understand the rationale and how CommonMark parsing is not trivial and could be simplified, but the resulting language misses, for me, the best part of Markdown: that it happens to be pretty much just what I'd write in plain text a

As a side note, it's fascinating to read the comments on that thread when talking about RNNs and Deep Learning. So much has changed in the last 6 years and feels so weird to read dismissive comments about the capabilities of these syst

I see the point about abusing JS labels in Svelte being magic, but there's nothing magic or non-standard about Vue's ref(). It's just a reactive container, just plain JS. All (widely used) modern frameworks have a degree of m

I believe it makes sense to pay a subscription for fungible , consumable things. That includes running water, access to the internet, electricity and also, for me, music and media in general. It's very rare for me to want to own a

At least where I live you do pay a subscription that is related to how much power you have available as well as a few other services and taxes. And, on top of that, you pay the actual usage.

I very much respect your view but i couldn't resist commenting on... how insane all that sounds to me. Chaos was, for me, the essence of an epic, memorable LAN party. It's fun to see how different people can be.

SMS is very uncommon in much of Europe. I'm feeling you are assuming that the alternative to iMessages in Europe is SMS. It's not. The alternative is WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Facebook Messenger, etc.
