Maybe so in this case, but it's likely many new users will read your post, and defaulting to a friendlier tone benefits everyone yeah?

If you actually want posting and the community to get better, a more helpful and understanding attitude goes a lot father than the approach above. Example: "I think posts like this aren't really relevant here as many languages sha

I see comments like this a lot about Perl and PHP as if they are trying to justify why they shouldn't have fallen out of favor. Both languages had plenty of good things, but rehashing them in this way doesn't do anything because t

I think part of that lack of outward friendliness is both transplants generally as well as those people that don't actually want to be there. But yes, the monoculture is the key problem. I was considering moving to SF because I loved t

When I was a teen, my clock was 27 hours. I did the vacation and natural wakeups and rotated around the clock in 7 days. It's decreased a bit but I think it's still around 25-26 hours.

Eh, I think that's discounting it too far in the other direction. MBTI is a mostly arbitrary and limited categorization system with very shaky psychological/sociological grounding, but it still is grounded on parts of personality

Why the assumption? I'm very much a proponent of INTJ's developing their feeling side and tbh I prefer INFJ's to INTJ's personally. It doesn't change that the difference is in only one category, and not in one I wou

I'm not a nuclear expert or anything but can you cite this? Isn't a big negative of nuclear exactly that the waste lasts for so long? What exactly does "relatively harmless" mean?

You say afraid as if it is a bad thing. When you consider the timescale of nuclear power plants and how long nuclear power has existed, safety stats seem to have a pretty low sample size with a lot of uncharted territory. That fear you ment

In most cases I'd agree, but essentially JS has gotten to the point that it's only usable if you write an entirely new language on top of it, like React/Vue/Angular have. All of them are basically to avoid the confusion
