You misunderstand. Domains must not be free, and domain cost isn't the problem. Nonprofit registrar != free domains. The problem is the horrible user experience of registrars like Godaddy. I'd rather give my money to a nonprofit t

This is great news! I'd also like to see a push for technologies like DANE (and necessarily DNSSEC) which address the flawed CA trust model. While we're at it, let's get a non-profit domain registrar going.

A fingerprint is more like a username than a password. It is simply not a secret credential. A password that is left behind on everything its owner touches isn't very secure.

It's easy to point out problems with semantic versioning; I'd rather read about solutions. Semantic versioning is not harmful. What's harmful is its misuse; don't rely on all projects to apply it the same way. With or wi

It's a shame that napping is so often frowned upon in hard-working–America culture. It seems to me a rather ignorant tradition. We look everywhere for ways to boost office productivity, yet napping remains an anathema.

Good tech founders need to be innovative, not encumbered by "the way things ought to be." It's reasonable that dress would be a valid signal of that quality, but I don't know if I'd make a rule around it.

I've abstained from Amazon Linux for the same reasons: to evade vendor lockin and facilitate cleaner non-EC2 dev environments. Though I think Docker improves the situation by decoupling applications from their host environment.
