Did anyone gush about it at any point though. Siri is probably one of the most, rightfully, panned product of all time. Even the day it was released it was panned because it was a gimped version of the app Apple had bought from the App Stor

All of the above. Here are some key factors driving social media. The misincentives are obvious once you clearly see these. 1. It is fundamentally based on one of the strongest human impulses of community. 2. The economic model of social m

You seem to have Chesterton’s fence completely backwards. Chesterton’s fence can never be an argument against creating something new. The whole point of it is that if you come across a fence then that was the result of a conscious human dec

Should the ACLU defend the rights of someone to blow up nuclear bombs in their backyard? That’s a clear curtailment of their civil liberties. And assuming they’re in a rural area may not harm anyone else either. This is an obviously extreme

There is literally no content being banned. All the talk about the U.S. trying to censor is nonsensical, as all the opinions by the members of the unanimous Supreme Court clearly pointed out, considering any of those opinions can be made in

In general I don’t think that’s insane at all. There’s nothing inherently wrong with the idea that something that is normal in an authoritarian society is verboten and sacrilegious in a Democracy.

India banned TikTok and a whole host of other Chinese apps and after a few days of moaning they moved completely on. So the evidence indicates that no one will actually care. And TikTok is even less sticky than say Twitter. TikTok isn’t abo

That damage is like 10% of Florida’s GDP. That’s absolutely nuts. It’s also a lot worse than the pure numbers suggest because the damage here is taking away actual built up stock, so capacity for generating future GDP. And the GDP in Florid

Since only apparently anecdotes count as pertinent for you, here’s one. I haven’t bought a bulb in over 12 years. My LEDs have simply not gone out. I had changed bulbs nearly every 6 months before that. Maybe spring the extra couple of doll

It would take 100 years for a single demographic if they were using all the 65000 annual H1B visas to reach 2% of the population assuming the population doesn’t grow for a century. This argument makes no sense at all.
