Couldn’t agree more, I read it last year and it’s as good as everyone says it is. That said, I did read a lot of Russian literature during that period so the constant names/nicknames didn’t bother me.

If you use these superset languages day-to-day you will end up interfacing with the base/platform language at some point. Just recently I had to figure out why the Elixir Kafka library didn't support something and I ended up using

I feel like this is an issue with all superset languages or however you want to call them and should be taken into account by anyone learning one of these. You can't really learn Elixir without also learning _some_ Erlang, you can'

This may be true on Intel/AMD based CPUs but it has not been my experience on an M1 machine. I have the same workflow both connected to power and not. Multiple docker containers running, slack, zoom etc. There's definitely no perf

I've started flagging these submissions, it's incredibly obnoxious to use Twitter without an account and if the author couldn't bother to use a longer format (there's even twitlonger!) I won't bother to read it.

Unfortunately, writing ability has nothing to do with how well a non-fiction book sells, in fact if you can write concisely and well that 350 page non-fiction will just be a 40 page essay. But that can't be sold for 15 dollars.

This argument may have worked in the years before Heroku (or Docker even) but it’s really outdated in 2021. Then you have the myriad of static site hosts that also take 2 clicks to host something without even having to write any code.
