I'm sorry but are you serious? Any decent front-end dev should be able to be proficient in React in a week.

Look for ads that say their entire organisation is remote/distributed. A lot of ads on weworkremotely.com do this to clarify that they don't have an actual office and everybody is telecommuting.

If you are talking about the Apple EULA, that is not enforceable in the EU.

Provide sources. Multiple acquittances have been working on custom built Hackintoshes for years without _any_ issues from Apple.

Yeah, I agree. I have a 15" MBP from 2008 and that thing is heavy. Was eyeing the 13" only for the weight.

If you rely on Skype in any way, avoid Linux. The Linux version was killed years ago and basic stuff like screen sharing isn't working as expected. Last time I tried (2+ years ago, it might be different now) Go To Meeting also wasn

To me it comes down to: sane default settings, ease of customisability and ability to discover stuff on my own. Add to this applications that just work™. I still remember having to write a Bash script on Ubuntu to move the mouse every 2 min

Last time I tried Elementary OS it _looked_ very nice but basic stuff like adding an HTML signature in the email client was missing. Did they improve on this front?

You are spreading misinformation. EULA is completely different from copyright and in a lot of countries EULAs are not enforceable.

I actually switched to Hackintoshes from Linux PCs because the upgrade/install process is less painful. Used Ubuntu and Arch in the past, tinkering with the system was almost a daily thing. Also, the UX/UI of OS X is just miles ah

I've been using my Hackintosh PC for 5 years now and every update/new OS upgrade was hassle free. With custom builds that is the norm. As long as EULAs are concerned, in the EU they are unenforceable.

Bunch of generalisation. Plenty of people use external devices via USB with Macbooks. Now all of them will need adaptors. Same goes for people who have a bunch of flash drives. New ones may not be expensive, but it's still a waste of m

It's still inferior to Google Maps tho. It's not outright bad, but for directions/traffic Google Maps is still miles ahead (at least in random European countries).

AFAIK EULAs are entirely illegal and unenforceable in the EU.

The iPhone SE is similarly priced and iOS devices receive updates for more than 3 years. iPhone 5 for instance got and runs fine iOS 9, 4 years after release.

Are serverless and container based architectures really that popular in the real world, or is it yet another HN bubble? I'm still happy using virtual/cloud servers for anything/everything.

This is what I've been doing and it's very simple for both client apps and on the server. I don't know if this is feasible for larger files tho.
