Umm, no. You write it on a piece of paper or white board while the interviewer watches. And it's gotta be pretty close to runnable as-is when you are done. If you can't write a loop, conditional and dump something to some output d

That doesn't make any sense. Say the server is using key A, but you want to plan for the future, so you have it also offer keys B and C. But it's still using A. So clients connect, in addition to having A, they get B and C. Great,

You also need a way to revoke old and/or compromised keys (so maybe also have an option to send keys that should be removed from the known_hosts file) otherwise you can't use this to rotate to new keys: sure, clients will automa

On the contrary, most Israelis are quite proud of the fact that 1/4 of the population are not Jewish, as well as the fact that those citizens have full rights and freedoms (more than they would in any of the neighboring countries). Tho

And yet it all still works. Technology is more complicated than even a few years ago. It can do more. It is accessible to more people (and all of their unique needs and abilities). Computers have the ability to make an almost infinite numbe

I thought we had all finally settled on JAX-RS, which (along with recent Servlet versions) means that writing RESTful web services in Java is almost as easy and lack-of-boilerplatey as Ruby/Python/anything else you can think of. T

Out of curiosity, what theme do you use? I really wanted to be happy with Gnome 3, but the focus issues (strange stacking order issues, sometimes closing dialogs would leave no window with focus, launching certain apps with global hotkeys w

I really don't understand how any serious developer can use Gnome 3. I have tried for the past couple of months to use the out-of-the-box Gnome setup under Fedora (with the Adwaita theme) and the whole experience was maddening. I'

The only good argument (in that article anyway) for not wearing a helmet seems to be the Bath university study, which everyone has been citing since the day it was released. But that's the only study I have seen on the topic. The fact

Really? Is there even a single ACM conference where a non-academic would be welcome submitting a paper or talk (and yes, dedicated researchers at corporations count as academics, if one of the qualifications is a PhD)

That response seems a bit grumpy, given that it doesn't suggest anything concrete to be done. I'm in agreement that the ACM seems wholly focused on the academic side of things (disclosure: I'm a member, but not in the academi

The license (CC BY-NC-SA 3.0) kinda sucks. It's not Free or Open Source, but more importantly, "non commercial" for a webmail client is probably an impossibly high standard for the type of person who would be setting up their
