CMS surveys, deficiencies, and plans of correction are to some extent business as usual for large health care providers. The article doesn't mention what they got hit with so it could be a big deal, or just an isolated incident that a

I'm interested in learning React, but brand new to front-end tooling (npm/webpack/etc). When doing this tutorial I got derailed by npm start, and the host of errors it led me through. Does anyone have any advice for learning

Of course there are outliers. Nobody disputes that Jordan was a 10x basketball player (probably closer to 100x when compared against the true mean and not just among professional players). Nobody disputes that Coltrane was a 10x jazz musici

Any time I've gotten stuck in learning Phoenix, I've found the community to be generous in offering advice and solutions. The documentation is good, but if it fails (or you just don't know where to look), Slack/irc/

Loading forbes.com and scrolling to the bottom of the page requires nearly 500 http requests. Anybody willing to share what it's like to work on a project like that? I assume that they employ skilled web developers who are aware of bes

That stat being buried in the article felt like poor journalism to me. Chipotle is a really popular restaurant, and the article states that 500 people got sick there since July out of (presumably) 24 million total food illnesses during that

That $750k fact sounds fishy to me. People who self-select into advanced degrees generally possess qualities that are correlated with earnings (intelligence, ambition, rich parents, etc). Does the $750k figure compare that group against sim

I love Ruby. That being said, if you require response times faster than what Rails & Sinatra can deliver, don't the newer/faster languages make more sense than implementing a hyper-optimized Ruby solution? I would worry that a

I'm learning Phoenix so I've been on their website a bit lately. I believe Dockyard (the company with an ad on the bottom of Phoenix's site) is supporting the project.

Bartok and Messiaen are probably the next ones to check out after Stravinsky. In terms of harmoic/rhythmic sophistication, Messiaen still sounds as modern to me as the recent/current orchestral composers (Adams, Carter, etc).
