Yup. You're absolutely right. I should have qualified that. We had about the same number of "real" tweets out of the 200.

A friend of mine took out an ad on The Deck ( http://decknetwork.net/ ) when he launched his app. It produced quality traffic that converted into active users. It also opened some doors with people who could help him promote the app reachin

Hi. When we first released http://limelightapp.com/ the only thing we did was post it on Hacker News. It made the first page for a few hours. In addition to generating really great feedback from the community, it also generated a decent a

And it was a good joke! I worked with PHP from 2004 to 2010. I worked with PEAR packages, early-adopted and watched the evolution of Zend Framework, ran both the local PHP user group and company's internal PHP user group, used ORM solutions

You're right, but it doesn't solve the problem discussed in the article. He's not looking for a laundry list of emails he needs to follow-up on in the future. He (like many of us who do Inbox Zero or are otherwise GTD-ish) will only want th

I love this new class of services that integrates into email workflow unobtrusively. No additional software, can use it from your cell phone, etc. One thing I've done is add the addresses to my address book with a easy-to-remember "names".

Hey Dalton. Andrew here. Congratulations on the launch of these new features! I think you may be misunderstanding Brennan's comment just because he's closely linked with us. It's not astroturf. The feedback he's giving you publicly here is

I ran into this on HN randomly the other day when I looked up the wrong user and saw this in a user's profile. The whole site, introductory video, tours, etc. are so tight! Amazing job, guys. Best of luck!

The exact same thing happened to me a little over a month ago. A few days before the launch of http://limelightapp.com/ , we saw http://app.net/ show up on the front page of HN. Initially, my heart sunk. (You've already felt this, I'm

NeXT wasn't a failure. It was bought by Apple for a reason: the software and underlying architecture. That's why we're still typing NSMutableArray, etc. when developing our iPhone apps today. NeXTSTEP was amazing software. Steve created an
