Many types of loans you can take out, where approval and interest are dependent on your credit history and assets, and also your tax burden to the government, are kind of like that too. Really anything where the amount charged varies with y

That's what Google+ was, too. People who already had online communities on four websites temporarily added a fifth to hedge their bets until it was clear that G+ was not destined for greatness.

Ok, but what do you do then? Fundamentally the issue is that cars are huge visibility blockers. It is completely inconceivable that a cyclist could stop or slow to let a pedestrian cross, and the driver behind them would not see the pedestr

The number was 4,109 in 2009[1]. In 2022 the number is 7,509, per TFA. We are in the middle of an alarming rebound that has significantly outpaced population growth. [1] https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/07/us&

I also love old.reddit.com with RES, but I have no illusion that Reddit likes it too. It seems likely to me that the same factors that motivate Reddit to do away with high-quality, user-oriented third party frontends will also motivate it t

It is a gamble. I am a Reddit power user in part because of the superb unobtrusive experience of old.reddit and Apollo. If you shove it full of ads, it’s no longer the experience I got addicted to. At that point I’d rather leave.

One possible outcome is that the pie shrinks. If Reddit hurts the user experience and drives away creators and mods, some people will leave with no alternative and simply spend less time on the Internet. In my case, I've replaced my Re

I'm sure the price is negotiable. Off the top of my head, the reasons you'd pay any nonzero amount of money for it are: 1. You avoid all of this drama. Christian makes a post that says, "Reddit offered me a lot of money and I
