I think email alias is a better choice for privacy. Take a look at SimpleLogin.

For email alias, I'd recommend to use a true email alias solution like 33mail or SimpleLogin as the plus (+) hack doesn't protect the privacy.

SimpleLogin [1] already does that and their aliases are more powerful. It's also open-source [2], can be self-hosted, and covers almost all platforms. The Firefox relay seems to need SocketLabs [3], a paying and closed-source service.

It’s better to not use the same email address everywhere. I use SimpleLogin to create email alias and it works great so far.
