Not sure what you mean by "just uses your localhost". I recently set up Cypress for the app I'm working on, which is a legacy MEAN app that I've been modernizing (migrating to React+TS, etc). It already had a set of Expr

Wow. I'm sorry, but you've completely misinterpreted both what I was trying to say, and what those Redux-related APIs do. A lot of people seem to assume that "using TS" means "must use the `class` keyword and deep i

I maintain Redux, and I can confirm that TS does _not_ "encourage devs to pass around complex live instances" any more than normal JS does. You can do FP and immutable updates in TS, just like you can do any other code. See our

Sagas are a great power tool, but most Redux apps don't need them. That's why we opted to include thunks out of the box as part of our official Redux Toolkit package: https://blog.isquaredsoftware.com/2020/02&

I'm afraid that if you're focusing on the technical merits of prototypal inheritance vs classes, you've missed my point completely. The parent comment seems to be arguing that a library or tool should be perfect in its very f

Sorry to hear that :( I get what some of what you're saying here, but I also feel a couple of these complaints are misguided. For one thing, the Redux team has never intentionally tried to make Redux "the main state management too

Nice, glad to hear that! Yeah, RTK is written in TS and specifically designed for a good TS usage experience with a lot of type inference, and the React-Redux hooks API is _much_ simpler to use with TS since it's really just a matter o

Hi, I'm a Redux maintainer. If you haven't looked at Redux recently, you should look again. "Modern Redux" code is drastically simpler than the Redux code you've probably seen before. In particular, our official R

Short version: React already knows what component instance it's rendering. Whenever a hook is called, React looks up the right data from a linked list stored in the internal component metadata objects. For more details, see: - Shawn Wa

Not sure I agree with that statement. For example, I know that nUnit and jUnit are test runners for the .NET and Java ecosystems, and both of those are also runnable via the CLI. As for the JS ecosystem, it's definitely developed diff

As I mentioned elsewhere in the thread, Yarn v2 does have an "unplug" command that will extract a given dep into a folder for the time being. Does help with that use case.

From what I've seen, the "unplug" command is supposed to allow you the ability to temporarily unzip a package so that you can do the traditional "hand-edit a file in a dependency" debugging approach.
