Not claiming it's not true, but according to the article, the author is "president of Let Grow, a nonprofit promoting childhood independence and resilience, and founder of the Free-Range Kids movement". So could the story hav

What a great story! I remember also "hand running" programs at times. While the Dec 77 issue of Byte[0] had Star Trek on the cover it didn't contain a BASIC listing. Could it have been either the May/June 1975 issue of C

I'm not familiar with ARM64. What about it makes it hard to write assembly in it? Is this also true of ARM32 or RISC-V?

Sounds like a wonderful college experience. SPARCs are nice... I was a little before that, our assembly language course was 68000, which was a nice step up from 6502 I was familiar with. But I do love RISCs. I am curious what were the main

Right, there is NO option to pay to increase storage for a single user. I have to start paying $6/user/month for EVERY user to increase from 15GB to just 30GB. A regular GMail account can increase to 200GB for $3/month.

I'm not complaining, I just want a way to migrate off the (originally) promised "free for families" GMail For Domains to a regular GMail account. That's all. Or at least ALLOW me to PAY for increased storage. I don'

How is a link to a 404 error on the front page of Hacker News? Do people upvote without actually clicking the link?

I believe it was done by projection onto a wall or screen, for example through a pinhole projection, rather than looking through a lens directly.

I haven't heard "Borland's OWL framework" in over 20 years. Wow, that brought a flood of memories and nostalgia back. I used Borland products starting with Turbo Pascal back in the 1988-1992 time frame before switching t

Right, even VCs don't know the answers. But the difference between a VC and a founder is that a VC invests in 100 companies not knowing which will succeed, but a founder only is investing in one.

That would be a great solution. I would imagine many "legacy free" users are old GMail for Domains users who just want the same Google One functionality of @gmail.com addresses but with a custom domain.
