Maybe all these vital infrastructure companies should not have spent the past decades in a race to the bottom of cybersecurity. There is going to be a reckoning.

This is exactly what i do, i have a pi extension that blocks all comments.

I was investigating an ansible playbook yesterday that had a 45 line comment to explain a single apt install command, completely and utterly useless. I am updating my neovim to just collapse all comments, the noise is unbearable.

All of the internet has become basically unusable its very sad, what used to be my place to relax has become a source of stress. Nothing is forever i suppose, doesn't make it hurt any less though.

It feels inevitable that many systems will have to go to a login/trusted ip source type system. Its just not feasible to continue to operate with 99% of your traffic being fake.

Because the crawlers dont care, they are the internets parasites. Their creators care nothing for people or systems downstream of their greed.

I have it set up to pop up an approval dialogue that shows me the comments its trying to write and if i reject it the model is told essentially "no comments allowed, retry the patch without them." It usually only takes one of thos

Its a personal extension i wrote myself, maybe I should put it up somewhere.. Its so simple though i dont know if its worth it vs just "go build it yourself"

I completely block all LLM comments via pi extension, it makes using them significantly more enjoyable. If the LLM wants to add a comment it must ASK me explicitly to do so. Seeing LLM comments in other peoples code is very upsetting becaus

Is that not literally the exect opposite of the direction asics for LLM inference is going?

You put the @ in the context file the LLMs all use, claudemd agentsmd whatever the thing that most harnesses force load. Then the model will go discover what it needs to.

This sounds miserable, why not just give it specific tasks to do in your normal workflow/editor? Why would we want to do MORE of the miserable task of ticket creation.

Agents.md is such a ridiculous concept, just write good contributing docs and then optionally @ the file in whatever agetn file you use. That way everyone benefits.

It hides information usually in a slop deluge that SHOULD be in normal human project documentation. If it's useful to an LLM its useful to a human, information should be treated as human first, the LLM will come along with it.

I mean it's good you are having fun, but that way of working will not be accepted in some communities, its inevitable so just find the place that accepts your preferred way of working.

The programming community will continue to schism down these ideological lines, its inevitable. May everyone find their niche but inclusion does not work when barrier to entry is reduced to near zero.

"Social Coding" was dead the moment LLMs showed emergent programming capabilities. This is the remaining communities attempting to defend themselves from the hordes of low effort slop coders. From first principles a community that

It's not actually, thats just shoving more shit into the shit pipeline. Humans need to review this stuff yall there's no way around that, apparently to some, very inconvenient reality.

"Lets have the system that fails sometimes that we are trying to ensure does not fail check it self" This is such an unserious approach.
