I've hit this before on official channels, too (namely #guix). I did discover the forbidden knowledge of non-guix repo at one point, but I agree that it's silly to not even acknowledge its existence. just turns people off honestly

I'm very much an amateur, and unless I have a project, I don't really code. My projects are generally configuring various WMs or Emacs, or weird stuff, like Gemini browsers, an abortive clicker game, et al.

You actually can open Gemini in a web browser, using a proxy like proxy.vulpes.one or portal.mozz.us. I tried to write a Firefox extension a la OverbiteWX for gemini to automatically redirect links, but my JS-fu isn't strong enough.
