I agree with you and I think we're changing at every moment, all the time, but it's usually gradual enough that most people don't notice or care until it manifests as new behavior. My life is materially the same as it was o

Congrats on 30 years of development, ReactOS team! What a lovely walk through the storied history of the project. I wonder how well it runs on XP-era hardware, Thinkpads, etc. I have several for running period games and software, but it

I agree with you and it's really sad that Tim couldn't take Apple in the direction of user safety over profit. I hope there's some layer between Apple and Gemini but only those at the helm can be trusted to make that happen a

That's really funny and clever that this was a thing, thanks for sharing. I never had the fortune of trying to guess my way through these.

Previous CA resident anecdata, I remember droughts being a normal part of life in central CA 1990-early 2000s. Don't run sprinklers during certain hours, odd/even watering, "the water bill" exclaimations, etc. Like anoth

Anecdata but I played games at 4K on a 4GHz Haswell (2013) + 1080 Ti (2017). Definitely faster at 2K but 4K was servicable. It's probably less true now that I'm 1+ years away from the hardware, but 4K gameplay is surprisingly acce

I'm in a similar situation, thinking about a paycut or sabbattical just to do something different. I think it's key to think about what makes you happy and interested in your work, and then find a way to map from your current posi

I see it only as a threat to those who have a deep hook into their role as a SWE. If as a SWE you see the oncoming change and adapt to it, no issue. If as a SWE you see the enablement of LLMs as an existential threat, then you will find man
