Great insight, definitely touches on another reason someone might reach for an LLM. Like some others pointed out, writing papers (especially not in ones native language) is its own complete task and with challenges and skills required beyon

Definitely, I think I wrote imprecisely when I used "humanity". I meant more like I personally wrote it, the sentence structure and grammar are mine, the mistakes are mine, and hopefully it's still clear and easy to understan

To add what others said, eccentricity is also a way to tell if the object is captured or not. 0 means perfectly circular orbit, >=1 means escape, >=2 means hyperbolic.

Painful! Definitely seems long enough to fully heal, plus you've already done the imaging (CT, MRI) which would be a best next step. Maybe you could try another specialist, though it sounds like you've already done everything corr

We should definitely have the guardrails. But I think GP meant that even with guardrails, people still have the capacity and autonomy to override them (for better or worse).

Which is, perhaps somewhat poetically, not unlike a person. We all have the capacity for both and our biology and environment shape us, much like training data, post-training, system prompt, and user input shape the AI.

Also yin and yang. Models should be aware of hate and anti-social topics and training data. Removing it all in the hopes of creating a "pure" model that can never be misused seems like it will just produce a truncated, less usef

That makes sense and is an elegant solution. This way one can check the balance at any time without recalculating, but we still have an audit log to find discrepancies when the balance is expected to be zero but is not.
