Yes, Linus is an a..hol.. But not in character. He does it as a calculated way to keep the real a--holes off of his chest. I admire Linus for his social / leadership. I learned from observing his strategies.

Videos are value-add when the presentation is well done (in terms of 'stagecraft and being able to see the slides). Merely listening endless ramble designed to keep you on the hook looses against speed-reading the transcript.

Bad usability not only sucks in a "this sucks, but let suck it up anyway" way, bad usability sucks in a big way, like "this sucks!". It's only bad culture that lets you esteem otherwise.
