"explain like I'm 5" is almost certain to be understood regardless of the reader. "Eli5" is unintelligible unless you are part of a particular, narrow, culture. I had no idea what it meant. (In truth, the "li

The site's not loading for me (swamped?) so this is based just on what I can infer, but the thing that popped into my mind was the U.S. Midwest. As an avid motorcyclist, I am always seeking out curvy roads. I just got back from a thr

I'm not sure how the RF interface works, but it it uses a zorro card, the A2000 would be the first computer that could run it. If it used serial, the even a A1000 would be a possible system.

The odd thing is the article references "who pays the bill" as the only similar thing in western society, but most of the examples given (except working without wages) sound like the polite society I grew up in. Perhaps not to the

Roadside Picnic, and Stalker the Tarkovsky film based on it, are very high on my list favorites. Roadside Picnic is kind of parallel to Clark's Rendezvous with Rama. They're both about a chance encounter with alien life, or more

While I don't doubt things will move in this direction, dates like this seem extremely optimistic. Just speaking of the US, there are something like 250 million cars on the roads, and we buy cars at the rate of about 12-16 million a y

MPG is useful when you are thinking in terms of vehicle range. This isn't most people's default, but it does have its usefulness. As for why US doesn't use l/100km. the simplest answer is all our vehicle odometers are

I love this line on the download page: Information to warez groups: Since the source is open, it should be simple to turn the demo into a fully featured version. Please let me know of any problems. (Just compiling the source is cheating!)

'hihi' or 'hi hi' is another, fairly rare, written variant that is used as laughter in morse code, and has migrated to written text by people that commonly use morse code. I'm not sure the exact reason, but it does

Part of the reason it stops readers quickly is the opening chapter is much harder than later chapters (that not to say that later chapters are easy, just nowhere near as dense ad the beginning). In that way is kind of like Faulkner's
